Mayan Calender
The Mayans believe that life is a cycle, that elapes every 26,000 years. This is the date that (dec.21 2012) this one ends, and a knew one begins. Sumerians, Tibetans, Egyptians, Cherokees, Hopi, and Mayans refer to this same 26,000 year cycle. Also this cycle is split into 5 smaller cycles 5,125 years each,that all ended from natural causes.Again in this 5,125 year cycle is 13 smaller cycles called the 13 Baktun Count, lasting 394 years each. Our cycle starting at 1618 is called the the triumph of materialism. The first machine (the clock) was created in 1618.

Um, hate to break it to you big guy, but Pacal Votan is/was a fraud. He is a fallacy invented by Catholic monks after they basically burned the entire history of the Mayan people, and then felt badly about what they had just done. The story of Votan says he rose from the grave and will return again, and you know the rest because it is just like another story. You know the one about this dude named Jesus that they believe in. Hmmm, strange. I mean, the Monks were only trying to conquer these native "barbarians" and completely change their whole belief system.
Also, the Mayan Prophecies do say the world is going to end in 2012. The literal translation says "the world as we know it is going to change."
