There is a huge hype for 2012 in recent times. What is so unique and special about the year 2012? The world of astrology and horoscope says a rare celestial event will happen on dec 21st 2012. On that day sun aligns itself with the centre of Milky Way Galaxy which happens once in 26,000 years. At the same moment the planet earth joins the show with sun. On the same day the earth completes its cycle of vobbling and changes its polarity and starts a new cycle of vobbling.

Apart from the rare celestial occurrences, many prophecies are foretold to happen in 2012 by many people in history including Nostradamus. Significant among those is the Mayan Prophecy which tells the history of mankind will come to an end at 2012. Mayans are people belonging to an ancient civilization inhabited in present day Mexico (and central America). In fact Mayan Calendar is said to be more precise than our Gregorian Calendar and historians say it is enough to adjust one day out of 38000 years in Mayan Calendar. Mayans considered time as a big cycle of recurring and similar incidents happening on planet earth. Many of their predictions came to reality in the earth’s history. If Mayans are true, then by 2012 the history of mankind has to end and a new era has to start.

Even as per Hinduism Time is considered as a recurring sequence of similar pattern of events. See what Bhagavatham (one of the sacred books of Hinduism) says about time:

Even Bible speaks about a Great Tribulation in the history of mankind. Some Nostradamus scholars say 2006 to 2012 is the great tribulation period. Moreover its evident to even the common people that the world is changing faster, if not why a great destructive sequence of catastrophes (both natural and man made) are happening in recent times. Unimaginable attack on twin towers. Tsunami killing 100 thousand people in Indonesia, India and other places as well. Hurricane Nargis killing 100 thousand people in Myanmar and recent China earth quakes killing 50000 people. Some relate 2012 with World war III and say during 2006 to 2012 the world may see world war III.

Only in recent times, we are so concerned about global warming and melting of Arctic ice. Food shortage had never become so prevalent globally. What could we infer from all these? Are we heading towards an apocalypse? Will the prophecies of Nostradamus and predictions of Mayan Calendar come true? Are we experiencing the great tribulation? Or 2012 is just a witness of rare celestial events waiting to occur in our galaxy. Only time could answer all these questions to the humankind.

I just watched this show on Sci Fi called Mystery Of The Crystal Skulls, it has some good background information, but they were wasting their time looking for one of the remaining skulls at that location. So far the skulls they have found were north of that location. In the Mayans scripture it is said that they sent 12 priests out with twelve of the thirteen skulls to separate them until humanity was ready for them to come together. They know that the ones that have been found were all north so logically they should be looking south for the remaining five. The Hedge's Skull (Which is the only one the documentary talked about and I wanted to here of all the others) is the main skull that they kept that's why they found it there. After all, there has even been one found in Spain...

The Mayans predicted a major catastrophe on Dec 21 2012.But they all so predicted of 13 crystal skulls that will be found and save human kind from distinction.This prediction states that these 13 crystal skulls will be found, and brought together when human kind was ready.These crystal skulls do exist, we have found many so far, in South America, Central America, North America, and Even one in Spain.





These crystal skulls are baffling scientist,there are no tool marks, inconclusive on carbon dating, and a mesmerizing feeling in there presence. Our technology today could not make duplicates, so where did these ancient skulls come from and who made them?I have no idea but my fascination with them and Dec 21 2012, I can't help but wonder what the two together represent. Will we find the remaining number of crystal skulls before Dec 21 2012 and stop the new age that the Mayans predicted or will we find the finding them bring in the new age. Or will we find them after and bring us out of what ever happens on Dec 21 2012?
There are a lot of unanswered questions that I have,but I do believe these two things are related in some way. And the people that believe in the Mayan prophecies start to figure out what the two have in common.
